Atlanta, GA – Shepard kicks-off a volunteer initiative, May Day, with more than 100 associates from five branches, nationwide—Atlanta, Baltimore, DC, Las Vegas, and Orlando — engaging in a series of diverse volunteer projects that directly benefit their local communities.
May Day is part of Shepard’s GO—Giving Outwardly—program, the company’s philanthropic program that extends the personal contributions of Shepard Associates by enlisting the support of their families, friends and industry peers in a mission of community service. The May Day initiative encourages volunteerism through a hands-on service project outside of the office during regular working hours. Every associate is given the opportunity to participate in lieu of coming into work.
“May Day gives our associates the opportunity to leave the office behind for a few hours and participate in an activity that connects them to the community,” said Steve Basch, chief executive officer “We are a company of service and it’s a source of pride and inspiration for our associates that they work for an organization that supports service on a broader scope.”
May Day is the first of two GO initiatives Shepard is launching this year, with plans to launch the second on in November.
