Philanthropy
Our culture of service defines us as a company and helps those who need it most.
Helping Others Across The Nation
For more than 100 years, Shepard has operated on a culture of service—service to our customers, each other and the communities in which we work and live. Shepard GO (Giving Outwardly) is our philanthropic program that serves as a foundational component of who we are. As Shepard expands, adding new customers, colleagues and communities, we are extending Shepard GO by enlisting the help of families, friends and industry peers.
Burgers and Backpacks
This summer Shepard supported the Burgers and Backpacks, an Atlanta-based event that provides school supplies and lunch to hundreds of children in need—a mere 3 miles from the branch.
May Day
Launched in 2016, our May Day initiative gives associates the opportunity to participate in a hands-on volunteer project at a local organization during the scheduled work day. Our nationwide network of offices and branches embraced the opportunity, and we provided more than 50 hours of community service to more than 12 organizations.
Chicagoland Spring Cleaning
We joined with several organizations to help us Spring Clean! We collected nearly 1,700 pounds of clothing and accessories to donate to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.
The top donators were American Dental Association at 294 pounds, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) at 260, and Society of Actuaries at 219. Congrats to our Chicagoland team and all the participants for your time and efforts in making a difference.
Thanks and Giving
The Annual Thanks and Giving event supports My Neighbor’s Children, an organization committed to the world’s children, especially the most vulnerable. Shepard, along with the Orlando hospitality community, created more than 14,000 meals to help children in Haiti.
Give Kids the World
No Child Hungry
Our Orlando branch hosts an annual event, Pedis for a Cure, that raises funds to directly support No Child Hungry, a local organization that gives back to children, family and communities in need.
